Pantone’s 2017 Color of the Year

Emily Kane

The holidays are over and it’s time to kick off 2017 with a fresh start. What better way to welcome the new year than with Pantone’s 2017 color of the year, Greenery. This vibrant and invigorating hue is the complete opposite from last year’s pastel duo, Rose Quartz and Serenity. I love this new shade. The bright freshness immediately conjures images of spring and the outdoors. Think fresh cut grass and kale smoothies! Just what we need right about now.

Pantone calls it “nature’s neutral” and describes their choice as “a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.”
